In the spirit of the key moments shared during the last edition of the Paris International Agricultural Show—where the Kingdom of Morocco was the first Country of Honour in the event’s history—a delegation from the Paris International Agricultural Show will be heading to Meknès to take part in the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), held from April 21 to 27 under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
This invitation highlights the strength and richness of the ties that unite the two countries in the agricultural and agri-food sectors. The French delegation, led by Jérôme Despey, President of the Paris International Agricultural Show, will take part in several major moments at the heart of Africa’s largest agricultural event, helping to bring a concrete and ambitious dialogue to life.
This visit reflects a shared ambition: to build on the promising cooperation initiated last February in Paris, and to position both shows as true catalysts for strengthening Franco-Moroccan relations in agriculture.
The theme chosen for this year’s edition of SIAM – “Agriculture and Rural World: Water at the Heart of Sustainable Development” – strongly resonates with the challenges faced by both nations. From water management to animal and plant genetics, and the impacts of climate change, there are many meaningful topics for exchange with a forward-looking perspective.
At the 2025 edition of the Paris International Agricultural Show, the Moroccan pavilion—measuring 480 m² and inaugurated by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch—attracted over 250 key decision-makers and economic representatives from Morocco. Among them, Ahmed El Bouari, Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, praised the excellence of French know-how, particularly during a showcase of bovine, equine, and asinine breeds organized by the General Agricultural Competition.
This high-level Moroccan delegation also led to a bilateral meeting between Annie Genevard, France’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, and her Moroccan counterpart, Ahmed El Bouari. It was a highlight of the event, culminating in the signing of a cooperation agreement on internships and study trips for Moroccan students in agronomy, veterinary medicine, and forestry: the “Stage 250 Operation”.
The 2025 edition of the Paris International Agricultural Show also marked the launch of a strategic partnership to promote innovation and knowledge transfer in the field of AgriTech. The first tangible initiatives born from this partnership will be unveiled this April in Meknès.

"Our official exchanges with Morocco give full meaning to the international scope of the Paris International Agricultural Show. The agricultural and forestry partnerships that link France and the Kingdom go far beyond technical cooperation. They embody the values of openness, solidarity, and collaboration that are at the heart of both the Paris and Meknès shows. Morocco is a great agricultural nation—so is France. Faced with climate change, we have so much to share, so much to learn from each other, to build more resilient agriculture. But also, agriculture that is more sustainable and more productive, in line with the growing ambitions of our agricultural and forestry roadmap."
Jérôme Despey
